Year 4 River Alt & Eco-Centre Trip friday 19th may 2017

An extremely well behaved and well informed Year Four visited the River Alt at Hightown and Southport Eco Centre on Friday 19th May.

Not only did the sun shine on us, but we learnt some exciting and new pieces of information such as, the beach at Hightown is actually a 7000 year old forest (we stood on a tree trunk which was 7000 years old). Also, have you ever wondered where the brick sea defence, came from?

They’re actually debris from bombed houses in World War II.

At the Eco Centre, we learnt lots about water conservation and how to look after our power sources.

The Eco centre teacher tweeted that we were extremely well behaved, intelligent and how well organised the teachers were!

Thank you Mr Shannon for organising the trip and well done Year 4 pupils!
