My name is Matthew.
It means I have a nice toothbrush,
and I have nice teeth.
I like the sound of my name because it's easy to say, like eating cake.
I would not change my name. I love my name as much as I love my white,
shiny teeth. I don't have any
cavities, so I have pretty nice teeth.
My name is like teeth...
strong, important and valuable.
I love my name like I love my teeth.
Both important, both strong, both valuable
Twas’ 5 in the morning. My dad dragged me out of bed, from the safety of my blankets and my
marshmallow pillow. He dragged me into an unfamiliar place, known as the car... when you’re
tired. The seats were cold and evil, like my dads intentions of ruining my sleep. It was cold
everywhere, and it felt like angry wolves breathing down my neck. I was in a cage of death,
without protection from the outside world. The death train began moving, slowly inching up the
icy driveway. Each second felt like an hour, while I was driving on through the death and
depression of the morning hours. I would rather be in the middle of the ocean, with its icy,
unforgiving water than to be in this tortures dark, and cold car. It felt like years before I fell sleep
again, only to find myself bring awoken by the beast that I call ‘dad’. The airport was even more
horrifying, with its bright lights and loud noises. People running to catch their flights, and security
people raging over a bottle of milk someone tried to bring on the plane. It was all so horrifying
and cold. The wolves wouldn’t leave me lone, their cold breath breathing down my back. I
stumbled to my dad, crawling through the unfamiliar turf, trying to get to the plane. The plane
was a whole new animal, trying to destroy all happiness. Once off the plane though it was
amazing. There were mountains of snow sprinkled all around the horizon. It was the most
beautiful thing I have ever seen.
My story starts fourteen years ago in the delivery room.
I don’t remember much of it. Oh wait I remember none of it.
My first memory is of my first day of prek.
I walked into the classroom and was scared, and i felt like i was out of place.
I stumble over to a plastic chair, and that's it. That's all I remember.
Skip ahead a few years to the end of fourth grade.
I was very sad at eight years old because I was moving away from
everything I've ever loved. (A new home, new teams, new friends, and a
new school). I was the saddest I've ever been. The move was terrible and
the house we rented was tiny compared to my massive family. We even
had to go in a motel for a few days because a hurricane knocked a
electric wire down on the yard. the worse part about it is having to share my bed with a dog Perhaps this is all you need to know, or perhaps
you would like to learn about my fond pizza addiction.
Global Warming, Reality or a hoax?
By: Matthew Mccance
Is global warming a real threat to the people of the world? According to many
sources, global warming may not be as big of a problem as some people sell it to be.
Over the past few years global warming has been a huge threat to us, or has it?
There are many top-notch scientists working on global warming, but most of their
findings point toward a minimal amount of pollution. They say that global warming
is just a shift in the ecosystem, witch is natural and happens quite often.
There have been many studies that show global warming is a hoax, and now
some of the most important study’s showing global warming is a problem have been
debunked, like Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, who
ran the largest test on global warming who was debunked by The Mail on Sunday.
They said “reveal that a leading member of Prof Mullers team has accused him of
trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BESTs research shows global
warming has stopped.
Professor Muller study was proven wrong by one of the people in charge of
the test, Professor Judith Curry, from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric
Sciences at America prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology. She said
“Professor Mullers claim that he has proven global warming skeptics wrong was
also a huge mistake, with no scientific basis.” She also said “the projects research
data show there has been no increase in world temperatures since the end of the
Nineties—a fact confirmed by a new analysis that The Mail on Sunday has obtained.”
That’s over 20 years with no change in the temperature; However, Prof Muller
denied warming was at a standstill.
There are also some very interesting facts that debunk many other tests as
well. Professor Curry also said” This is nowhere near what the climate models were
predicting,. Whatever it is thats going on here, it doesnt look like its being
dominated by CO 2 .” This also seems to some very shady facts, because “Like the
scientists exposed then by leaked emails from East Anglia Universitys Climatic
Research Unit, her colleagues from the BEST project seem to be trying to hide the
decline in rates of global warming.”
There has also been many studies “proving” global warming, like Andrew
Freedman’s article “Climate Change Increasing the Severity of Natural Disasters”
which states that casualties have increased due to climate change, but, according to
Jacey Fortin, its because developing country’s aren’t ready for hurricanes or other
natural disasters. Also the massive increase of population in the past hundred years
isn’t making casualty’s due to storms go down. There are so many other factors to
natural disasters, that it’s not very clear what causes them, so you cant say its global
warming.
Do you think global warming is a real threat or should we be focusing on
more “right now” problems? For example, we have ISIS to worry about and
unemployment rates increasing. Global warming really isn’t a threat, but we should
still cut down on our waste production and be more carful to where we put our
trash. There are still mountain loads of garbage and polluted waters; which I think is
a massive problem.
My name is Matthew McCance.
I live in larchmont, new york, with my 5 siblings, mom & dad, dogs & cats.
I have a large interest in crazy action packed books, but it is true I find it
exceedingly hard to get into a book. I used to be small, and I’m still not tall.
I used to be lazy, but now I haven't seen the outside in 19 weeks.
I used to play tennis.. Oh wait none of that is true.
I go outside sometimes.
Sometimes.

I don’t remember much of it. Oh wait I remember nothing until about four
years old on my first day of prek.
I walked into the classroom and every seemed lost; out of place.
