Raj`a Island Stranded on Raj`a Island

What dangers do you see as a person stranded on this deserted island. Be specific and explain your answers. Dangers that i see stranded on this island are not having enough food or getting hypothermia . These are dangers because both of these things can cause death.

One of the characters goes by Piggy and is chubby , people in his school would call him Piggy but he didn't like it.Piggy has asthma and was the only boy in his school that had it and he wore glasses since he was three . Another character is Ralph , hes more of a leader. The next one is Johnny was close of age to the other boys

1. Travel in 2+

2.Don't go out at night

3.Share resources

4. Clean up after yourself

5. communicate effectively

6.Do your job

7. Don't kill each other

The most important rule out of these is most likely to communicate effectively because someone might get confused and might do someone else's instead of their own or someone might think they have a different job .

The setting of the story adds to the theme.It adds to the theme because its harder to survive on a stranded island than any other place .

Around the room are yellow and green index cards.

Green cards are people and things in the novel.

Yellow cards are the symbolic representation of the yellow cards.

Your job is to match them up. There are 9 matches.

Here is an example: Temptation (Yellow card)is symbolic of the meat (green card) the boy's

1. Civilization= The platform

2. Isolation =The island

3.Smoke = rescue

4. Piggys glasses = survival

5. Piggy= Democracy

6. Meat=temptation

7. goodness= Simon

8.Conch= law and order

Describe the beast: All the boys are scared of the beast, everybody thinks that its real but Ralph doesn't think its real. So far nobody knows what it is . The beast is on the mountain but all of them are at the castle where there's no food,water or shelters.

The boys had rules to follow the whole time . They have broken some though , The ones they broke were rule #1 , #2 and # 5 . Rule number one was traveling in 2 or more people which they ended up breaking that . Number two was to not go outside at night which they ended up doing that . Last was number five which was communicating effectively which they ended up not doing so well with that .

Choose a character, either Ralph or Jack and explain the effect seeing the Beast has on the character you have chosen. Use textual information to support your answer.

Jack and Ralph both had a effect from seeing the beast .Jack wants to be chief now and ralph shouldnt be chief anymore. None of the other boys want Jack as a leader though.Jack was angry when he was alone up the mountain . Even though all the other boys were scared to go with him he still ended up going alone.

In life people create groups. These groups might be at school, in sports, in extracurricular activities, and through religious organizations. Explain what needs groups fill for people. Explain both the positive and negative aspects of being part of a group. You may relate this to our novel, or you may make it a person reflection of your own experience

There are negative and positive things about creating groups. Creating a group can be bad because if you dont fully trust them they can do things behind your back that you dont like . Making groups can be good because if you are going through stuff or you need l they are usually there to help.Sometimes its hard to tell if having a group or none at all is better.

Retell in your own words what has happened to Simon. Use textual evidence to help you create a vivid paragraph.

Simon was killed in chapter 9 . Simon was killed by the other boys .The way he was killed was very violent . All the boys were chanting "kill the beast, cut his throat , spill his guts" over and over . Simon walked down at the beach where all the boys were . He was apparently at the wrong place at that time and so one of them yelled "him!" towards Simon . That's when all the boys grouped up on Simon and beat him up until his last breath .

“Which is better - to have rules and agree, or to hunt and kill?”

Using this quote, take a stand. Pick a side and explain why your decision is best on this island here at the end of Chapter 11. Don’t forget to use textual evidence to support your answer.

In my opinion i think making rules and agreeing to it is the best decision . This is the best one because its better to be on the same page as others so you're not confused . Some people might disagree to something that's better for everyone but decides to do whatever they want . For example in the lord of flies people didn't listen to rules that were agreed to. Simon ended up traveling alone when they're supposed to be in groups . He came back and ended up dying. Maybe if he listened and stuck with the group it would of been different.

This a picture of the island. I chose one where it shows most the places on the island because i thought it was important to just look at everything at once to sum it up. It has all the places that were named in the book . Looki

I think this novel was really sow and hard to keep up with . Since i felt this way it was hard to pay attention . Considering i usually was confused i didnt like the book. I think reading alone was best because i cant focus when people read out loud to me . I dont like the adobe spark mostly though it took a long time and it was doing the same thing everyday which wasnt that fun.
