Overcoming Obstacles

When I was middle school student, I was a member of orchestra. I joined the orchestra late. So I don’t have a chance to choose my instrument. I wanted to play the horn but there’s not any horn for me. That’s why I started to play the trumpet.

When I started to play it, I was not good at it. I practiced it very hard but it wasn’t get better.

In the weekend I visited my teacher. He said my set of teeth is not suitable for playing the trumpet. He recommended me to change the instrument. I couldn’t change it because of the lack of instrument.

After visiting teacher, I think there’s no way except practicing. I practiced it everyday about 3~4 hours. Before school started I went to school 1 hour earlier and practiced it. After school ended I remained at school and practiced it.

It was very hard. My teacher scolded me a lot about my playing style. But I kept practicing a lot.

Finally I was 9th grade student. We took a test in every winter vacation. The result determined our seat. After my last test I was a top trumpet player. I played solo in concerts. I won a prize at a contest. I was very happy.

I overcame obstacle with my effort. It was very good for my confidence. And now I keep playing the trumpet in many orchestras. I love it and enjoy it.
