Tommy Moe Olympic skier

Tommy Moe, the two time Olympic medalist. He is the only American Olympic skier that placed twice in one year in the Winter Olympics. Moe was born on February 17th, 1970 in Missoula Montana. Tommy first got introduced to the sport of downhill skiing by his dad, who was a ski patroller at the Montana big mountain ski resort. He started at the age of 3 years old. In 1994 he was first asked to be on the U.S Olympic ski team. He was introduced into the ski and snowboard hall of fame in 2003 after he was retired. He got married to his long time girlfriend the same year he was introduced into the ski hall of fame. Since he is now retired, he thought that he would try other outdoor activities. For example, he tried kayaking, mountain biking and of course plenty of skiing. To sum it up, tommy had quite a bit of accomplishments and many trophies to show it.

Tommy didn't always have a good life he had some struggles along the way. For example, he suffered from a right knee injury at the Kvitfjell. He recovered that summer, but he will never ski up to his full potential. In addition, he also got busted for smoking an illegal drug at a race, so he was sent back to live with his dad. Which he didn't take too kindly, later that year he turned his life around and got back into the sport. Tommy also suffered from a fluke thumb injury in late January which required surgery. He finally retired in late June at the age of 28 from competitive ski racing. In the long run, Tommy did have some ups and downs, but he managed to pull it off.

Tommy moe’s race career had a lot of ups and downs. For example, he learned to ski at an early age, he was 3 years old when he first stepped on the slopes. Tommy had a few injuries along the way, which took him out of a few races and kept him from practicing. He also got suspended from a race from a poor choice of smoking an illegal drug before the race. The effect of that was he had to go back to Alaska to live with his dad, because he was still young and was traveling to all of his races. As a result of, his dad turned Tommy around and later that year he was back on the slopes. Tommy won many medals, not only in the Winter Olympics, but in all of his races he was one of the best. He developed his skiing skills at an early age, he started to do speed races when he was a teenager and he was the first U.S skier to win two medals in the Winter Olympics in one year. After all, Tommy Moe is a very gifted and talented person and has already made a lot of accomplishments and there's still more to come.
