Years 3/4 and 5/6 Basketball Gala Day - Wed, 22nd November 2017

On Wednesday, Wahroonga Adventist Schools Year 5/6 boys and girls as well as the Year 3/4 girls and boys represented our School at the Primary School Basketball Gala Day at the Brickpit in Thornleigh. We all tried our hardest, played the best we could, and had a lot of fun while playing! The teams that we competed with, played well too. Also Mr Crabtree said that everyone’s defence really improved throughout the day. Most importantly I think everyone enjoyed themselves, had fun, and it was nice to see everyone encouraging one another, passing the ball to one another and getting a few baskets. I think all the teams had some wins and some losses but it was nice to see the great sportsmanship that all the Wahroonga Adventist teams played with. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the gala day. May I also add, if you have a chance to visit the Brickpit one day, make sure you buy a bucket of hot chips, they are excellent!

Home and School News

THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered as part of the Home and School Committee this year. We are most grateful for all the many volunteers who help out at events, amongst the school community, in the Canteen and Uniform Shop.

It has been a very busy and social year with lots of great events run by the Home and School.

We kicked off the year with the Family Fun Day which was a huge success with all the kids smiling from ear to ear.

The Mums received a beautiful Mother’s Day tribute and morning tea.

The kids enjoyed a Winter experience with a social ice skating night, which we know Mrs Jacobs thoroughly enjoyed too!

The Dad’s were not forgotten with both a Father’s Morning as well as the infamous Dad’s Camp Out event!

And to finish off the year, we hosted a beautiful Sunset Garden Party for the school community to come together and share a night together.

The Home and School Committee has also been able to extend our hand to the out-side community with our Operation Christmas Child boxes as well as the Wishing Tree for gifts for disadvantaged youth in the area.

All in all, it has been a very productive and fun year for the Home and School and we would like to wish you all a safe and Merry Christmas with your families and look for-ward to more great things in 2018.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD and KMART WISHING TREE

Just a reminder to please return the shoe boxes of gifts for Operation Christmas Child by the end of this week. The gift tags from Rotary are due back by the end of next week. We would like to thank everyone for their generosity in contributing to these important causes.
