Many of these people have come to Costa Rica from countries such as the Congo, Haiti, Sengal, Venezuela and many more places speaking languages like French, Creole, Spanish and English. They have fled their homes and are now temporarily living on the border of Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Her dream is to be an actress, and to learn English
Imagine, this is all of your life, all you have left in a mere duffel bag
This is how they cook the rice and beans they are given.
This is one of the tents, where as many as 20-25 people sleep every night
This family have traveled many miles on foot across countries to reach this point, yet they still have a smile on their faces, dreaming of another life
