Unit 1&2 Exam Vocabulary

Government: the group of people who control and make decisions for a country, state, etc.

Colonies: an area that is controlled by or belongs to a country and is usually far away from it.

State: a politically organized group of people usually occupying a definite territory.

Plan: a set of actions that have been thought of as a way to do or achieve something.

Central:controlling all other parts: having power over the other parts.

Independent: not controlled or ruled by another country.

Colonists: A person that lives in the 13 colonies.

British: Describes anything from England/Britian (Example: British/England = American/U.S.)

Taxes: an amount of money that a government requires people to pay.

Power: the ability or right to control people or things.
