Hello my name is Cody. I researched fitness. I was interested in this topic because I personally love exercising and wanted to know how other kids my grade felt about exercising and how often they exercise. The purpose of my research was to find out how often kids my age exercise and learn how they feel about working out. I asked the question How Often Do People Exercise. To answer my research question I asked 8 people. The sample group was made up of kids in 7th and 8th grade. I picked this group because I wanted to learn about how kids my age feel about exercising. I avoided sample bias by selecting the kids in the group randomly.
I was expecting to find that a majority of kids my age don't exercise because at my age a lot of kids don't take being fit seriously and they don't have the motivation to be healthy. I didn't find what I was expecting. A majority of kids my age actually exercise regularly and actually stay pretty active. I was surprised to find that 62.5% of people exercised more than 3 times a week because a lot of kids my age I know don't exercise regularly and aren't very active.
My survey did achieve it's purpose. This is because It showed that a lot of kids my age actually do exercise and that is what I was researching. I think that the results can not be applied to everyone in population. This is because I only surveyed a very small percentage of kids my age and for all I know I could've just got a group of very active kids on accident. The results of this survey can be used to make more surveys to find more accurate data and survey more kids.
