The East Carolina University Division of Student Affairs hosted the 3rd Annual Corporate and Leadership Awards banquet on April 22nd at the Greenville Hilton.
ECU alumnus, Ron Clark (’94), delivered the keynote address at the banquet. Clark, a New York Times bestselling author, subject of the movie, The Ron Clark Story and Disney’s American Teacher of the Year, started working with students in Aurora, North Carolina before subsequently teaching in New York City and then founding the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, GA.
In addition to educating 5th-8th grade students, the internationally acclaimed school serves as a professional development site for teachers. To date, over 40,000 educators have visited the Ron Clark Academy to be trained by Clark and his award-winning staff.
Awards were also presented to recognize corporate partners who have made tremendous impacts for ECU and its students, as well as individuals who serve as advocates for Student Affairs. Congratulations to these 2017 award recipients!
