Who do you most admire in life?

My sister. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be just like her. She's the hardest working, most giving person I know. Despite the challenges presented to her in life, she stays upbeat and always goes out of her way to make people smile. That's special.

If you could witness any event in the past, present, or future, what would it be?

The 60's. I'd like to witness the entire decade from music to politics, the fashion, cars...the whole decade was a movement. It fascinates me.

What makes you laugh the most?

Nothing makes me belly laugh more than well-timed sarcasm when its least expected. My girls have mastered the craft.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Banana pancakes with crispy bacon.

Caution. Will bite if provoked.

A flying pig. I believe in miracles.

Crystal brings 20+ years of creative problem solving and change management to Hubbell Power Systems. Her passion for creating a message and customer experience that sticks is the drive behind delivering work that exceeds expectations. She challenges herself and her team to go beyond ‘good enough’ and exceed the organization’s expectations. Over the course of her career, she led teams to several award-winning campaigns, implemented marketing programs that delivered double-digit growth, and re-branded several organizations. In her spare time, she is looking for a long term hobby. The hobby du jour is boxing.

Janet has spent the last 9 years in the world of marketing and communication. Her first gig was slingin' cookies as the Public Relations Manager for Girl Scouts. While in college, she competed at the national level in a PR/event planning competition and founded 2 advertising agencies that are still in operation today. At HPS, she works to keep the integrity of our 19+ brands and find creative solutions for promoting our products. She manages the creative, content and placement of HPS ads...which totals over 120 a year.

Matt came to Hubbell after an award-winning, 15-year career as a graphic designer, art director and creative director. In 2011, he started his own freelance business, Red to Gray Creative, to extend his digital capabilities and found a passion for the marketing and technology combination. Those experiences are helping Matt build a strong foundation for the growing digital needs of HPS and our customers. Matt loves music. He's performed as both a classical and rock musician in venues across the US including Carnegie Hall and the House of Blues. Nowadays, you can find him working with musicians and bands, making memories with his family and enjoying life as a Dad.

Patagonia, it looks like a photographer's dream and I am hoping to make the trip within a year.

Based on my strength alone it would obviously have to be either Dolph Lundgren or The Rock.

Three Booches cheeseburgers with everything, XL Imos Pizza with Pepperoni and Bacon, and my Mom's Prime Rib. With Coldstone's Red Velvet Ice Cream Cake for dessert.

Darrin graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri where he double majored in Graphic Design and Photography. He came to Hubbell a little over 4 years ago after working in the bar and restaurant industry for 10 years.

My 88 year-old grandmother. She is a polio survivor, has unwavering faith, and one heck of a cook.

Hannah is a Business Analyst at Hubbell Power Systems’ headquarters in Columbia, SC, supporting the business in planning, performance analysis, and market intelligence. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance in 2012. After graduation she moved to Atlanta, GA where she was began her career as an Accountant for Georgia-Pacific LLC. Hannah spent over three years employed by GP, holding roles of increasing responsibility in accounting and risk optimization, before deciding to move back closer to her roots. In her free time, Hannah enjoys concerts, traveling with her boyfriend Eric, and attending USC athletic events.

Mary thrives in marketing communications. Her footing began in college through eight separate internships focusing on copy writing, public relations, advertising, and communications; not to forget the summertime stint as a river guide. She enjoys working in a creative team environment that takes companies to the next level. She loves to travel, paint, read, write, cook, and garden. Her family is number one and that includes the dog, cat and chickens. Mary believes creativity brings a splash of color to everyone's life and a strong foundation can carry a person far.

If you could travel anywhere where would you go and why?

I would travel to Finland. My ancestry is mostly Scandinavian so it would be interesting to see where we came from. The beautiful scenery and glass igloos under the Northern Lights don’t hurt either.

How do you spend your free time?

I’m either spending time with my lovely wife and our two cats and one dog or I’m on the soccer field.

What makes you laugh the most?

Definitely my wife and animals. They keep my life entertaining.

If you could witness any event, past, present or future, what would it be?

This year actually. Barcelona pulled off one of the biggest miracles in sports history by coming back from a four goal deficit in the Champions League quarterfinals against PSG. It was a spectacular scene.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

Danger, High Voltage, Sometimes.

What 90s TV character are you?

Tommy, the green Power Ranger. He defined cool for me as a kid in the 90’s. I also was him for 2-5 Halloweens.

Taylor graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC where he majored in graphic design and minored in art history. He spent four years in customer service before beginning his career as a graphic designer for a sports apparel company where he worked to develop and differentiate a relatively young brand from its competitors. He challenges himself to excel at everything he does, always looking to improve the standard. In his spare time, he is an avid soccer player and Liverpool FC supporter.

Caroline graduated from the University of South Carolina where she majored in Public Relations. She started her career in marketing selling print and targeted digital advertising for a newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina. She recently transitioned to the Marketing Coordinator role at Hubbell Power Systems. In her free time, Caroline enjoys a good true crime podcast, fishing on Lake Murray and traveling to see family and friends.

Maybe Chandler from Friends...I try to be funny and a lot of people don't understand what I do for a living.

Joe has spent the last 17 years in sales starting in college selling cars, then going to the mortgage industry and ending up in the electrical industry 8 years ago. He has spent time on the “corporate” side of the fence along with being out in the field. At HPS, he works with our sales teams, business units and current network of distributors to build relationships and increase sales all while maintaining a selective distribution model.

Dick brings 40+ years of experience to the table. He manages 150 shows and meetings a year in 13 industries, with booth sizes ranging from 100 to 6,000 sq. ft. Dick works with show associations and sponsors, on-site service providers, our exhibit service, hotels and our business units to insure every show is a success. Our show service utilizes 250 product demonstration modules as well as pop up displays, banner stands, and signage modules to show our product breadth and services to booth visitors.

Jeff Thomas

Jeff leads our transmission development team, including the management of 3 transmission specialists. Together, they seek transmission and substation project opportunities and ensure that Hubbell Power Systems is positioned to fulfill the customer requirements on all opportunities. Our department plans to continue to invest in market segmentation to maximize the efforts of our salesforce and be the source of expertise our customers have grown to expect.
