#hdisfordancing A dance initiative to support the Huntington disease community in canada

What is #hdisfordancing?

#hdisfordancing is an initiative to bring awareness to Huntington Disease through dance. Three years ago, a member of my family was diagnosed with Huntington Disease. HD is a devastating and life-changing neurodegenerative disease, like having Alzheimers and Parkinson's simultaneously. It's a disease that impacts body and mind. It was formerly called Huntington's Chorea, (chorea meaning 'dance') because of the involuntary movements that are characteristic to those affected. There is currently no cure for HD, though a lot of very promising research is being done. All money raised from ongoing #hdisfordancing events will go directly to The Huntington Society of Canada.

How else can I get involved?

. A major part of this initiative is to raise awareness, so sharing information is almost as good as making a donation.... (almost). You can post to social media using #hdisfordancing to help raise awareness about Huntington Disease.

Check out The Huntington Society of Canada's webpage where you can learn more about HD and how you can get involved. You can also donate to the HSC directly and receive a tax receipt.

Be sure to select 'Other' from the 'Designation' drop-down menu and type in #hdisfordancing
