"If you can dream it, you can do it." - Walt Disney

Hey! That's me!

I am an undergraduate business student with experience in financial analysis and portfolio management at Titan Capital Management (TCM), in auditing and accounting at Del Taco Corporate, and in retail banking and customer service at Wells Fargo. Upon graduating from California State University, Fullerton, in Spring 2019, I am seeking a financial analyst position in investment banking, security research, private equity, or venture capital.

At CSUF's Mihaylo College of Business & Economics, my focus has been on studying finance and accounting and developing my leadership skills. I am currently President of the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), Vice President of Finance for the Finance Association (FA), and a fixed-income analyst for TCM - a finance program in which 17 other students and I help manage the CSUF Philanthropic Foundation's endowment fund of $1.5 million.

I am currently developing my skills in financial analysis and building valuation models; following various economic indicators and keeping up with relevant news; and learning quickly about new companies, industries, and markets. I have participated in investment-related conferences and presentations, and I have researched and pitched various securities as buy or sell reports for SMIF and TCM. In December 2018, I will begin my pursuit of the Chartered Financial Analyst®(CFA) credential, aiming to complete all three levels within four to five years. After which, I will consider pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at a reputable university.

I was born and raised in Orange County, California, and am open to positions worldwide. I can speak and understand Cantonese and am learning Mandarin for business purposes.

Work Experience

Fixed-Income Analyst, Titan Capital Management (June 2018 - Present): I currently work in a hybrid work environment combining both a classroom and professional setting. In Titan Capital Management, I collaborate with 17 other analysts and fund managers to manage a $1.5 million portfolio - $500,000 of which consists of fixed-income securities. Using a holistic approach with both top-down and bottom-up investing, we review current economic and financial conditions to determine investment strategies, create security recommendations, and exercise the decisions that benefit the portfolio. To perform sound fundamental analyses, I utilize Bloomberg Terminals to research securities and Excel to create financial models.

Intern, Del Taco Restaurants, Inc. (November 2017 - Present): I currently work as an Accounting Intern for a large domestic restaurant chain and have experience in both the Accounting and Internal Audit departments. As an Accounting specialist, I manage the accurate and timely processing of over 2,000 invoices each month with amounts ranging up to $250,000 for vendors and the 565+ restaurant locations, helping enhance business efficiency and relationships. My other primary duties consist of resolving backlogged work, restoring order and organization to processes and records in disarray, researching and resolving billing issues, and correcting invoice and journal entry errors that had previously gone unnoticed. With internal auditing, I validate the accuracy of company information to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards to mitigate risk to the firm. I also verify that invoice data is accurately and properly stored within our accounting system in preparation of sales tax audits. Furthermore, I utilize the Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software and the OnBase platform to record, store, monitor, and analyze information daily.

Bank Teller, Wells Fargo & Co. (March 2017 - November 2017): As a bank teller, my primary duty involved providing excellent customer service. Throughout my 8 months at Wells Fargo, I helped resolve customer concerns that led to my branch's high customer experience score of 4.74 out of 5. Furthermore, I collaborated with bankers, financial advisers, mortgage representatives, managers, and other tellers to meet and exceed quarterly sales and relationship-focused goals. After assessing the needs of our clients, I recommended various products and procedures that would benefit them, increasing overall customer loyalty. Lastly, as a cash handler, I balanced cash drawers daily and consistently stayed within daily and monthly cash difference limits for 3 quarters, minimizing risk to myself and to the company.

Assistant Swim Coach, Irvine Swim League (Summer 2015 - Summer 2017): Using my 14 years of competitive swimming experience, I provided advanced knowledge of aquatic techniques to the Colony Red Hots swim team, which consists of swimmers aging from 5 to 18. After designing effective training programs for about 130 swimmers, the team saw every swimmer experiencing time improvements or meeting their goals during the swim season. In addition, I assisted the head coach by supervising a staff of over 15 coaches, served as liaison to parents and guardians of swimmers, and enforced the maintenance of pools and overall safety.

Server, Regal Entertainment Group (May 2016 - February 2017): As a server at Regal Entertainment Group, I utilized my skills in service and efficiency to provide an excellent experience to movie-goers.

I also act as the Portfolio Manager of our fund, as I am in charge of building, updating, and managing our portfolio, abiding by the CFA Society of Orange County's investment policies. Twice a year, our club competes with 4 other universities in front of our clients to evaluate our investment decisions and logical consistency.

Analyst, Student Managed Investment Fund (January 2018 - Present): As an analyst for SMIF, I utilize Bloomberg Terminals and Microsoft Excel to research and analyze potential stock and bond investments that fit the fund's investment strategy. In order to convince other students that my various securities are sound investments, I present my reports in front of the entire club using solid data and reasoning.
