That you may be free... A Worshippy Thingy from Orchards United Methodist Church for Sunday, June 7, 2020

Currently, live, in-person worship is still suspended due to the coronavirus. We offer this online experience, hoping that through it you may experience the grace of God. We will be celebrating Holy Communion, so you may want to gather some bread and juice before continuing.

1 John 1:5-10
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Holy Communion

Note: While there is still considerable debate around the legitimacy of online Communion, we have decided that the Holy Spirit can work just as well through the internet as any other technology. We invite you to provide your own elements of bread and juice, reminding you that Methodists traditionally use non-alcoholic juice out of respect for those who have and are fighting addiction to alcohol. May this means of grace be effective in revealing the living God to you.
