Problem Parrots Current Rehoming List

Mildred

My name is Mildred, I'm a lovely fischer's Lovebird, I currently live in a safe house with my safehouse mummy and daddy, they have some four legged fur babies that don't bother me, I come to the bottom of my cage to say hi, I love my time out of my cage and as long as I've got something to land on whether it be human or pictures lol, I'm getting friendlier the more I'm handled I do still like to bite a little but it's not meant in a hurtful way and with perseverance I know I'll stop. I do eat a little bit of chop, my sh mum gives me fruit in chunks so I can take what I want, my favourites is apples and pears, I also like the odd grape. I would love to find a new home hopefully with a new partner or friend as I recently lost my bonded male, If you think you can offer me my forever home please send an email to rehoming@problemparrots.co.uk

Merlin

Merlin is an orange wing amazon who is a very loving little man when he gets to know you. He is very hand shy and will bite, he likes to do things in his own time. If you are calm and patient in time he will let you give him head tickles. Merlin is also a very active bird and needs a lot of time out of his cage so will need someone to be at home a lot of the time. He likes his toys, especially one made from cardboard so when in cage it will keep him contented. He is quite happy to be around men, women and children. He is currently on a diet of AS30 and tidymix but slowly introducing pellet as he isnt really keen on many veggies yet but does eat a select few. We are in the process of offering his veg to him in different ways and making it more fun for him. Hopefully in the future he will love all his fresh veg, he likes fruit but only offer it a couple of times a week. This gorgeous little man has great character, he says "good girl", " hello" and "hello merlin" in such an angelic voice.. He isn't overly noisy either. Merlin will make a great companion for someone who is willing to put in the time and effort. Its been a privilege to have been his safe house mums

Frank and Ben

Calling all people crackers about Quakers! hello everyone we are Frank and Ben, 2 brothers who are best buds. We have been in our safehouse a little while now and been converted onto chop and beaphar pellets, we love nutriberries, nuts and our seed mix, our SH mum gives us AS30 and tidymix, were aren't so keen on fruit, love our apple but we are now eating our chop which is the most important thing. we love to come out our cage and sit on top, we need to work on our muscle strength when it comes to flying but we give it a go and try and land on your head or close to you. We are typical quakers in that we are very cage territorial so its best to avoid handling us when in and on the cage but this doesn't mean getting us back in when you want is an issue, if there is food involved we are in! we both know how to step up and when away from our cage this is not a problem, Frank is more outgoing than Ben but they are both good. They have had head tickles but not often they just like to hang out with you, its not advised to let us on shoulders cause we will suddenly nip your face out the blue, we can get a bit nippy sometimes but its nothing major just something you should know, we love to preen your skin and after a while it can hurt you humans but we aren't meaning to be nasty we aren't nasty birdies our SH mum says we are very sweet and endearing. We really love our human company both men and the ladies, we were around older children in our previous home but there are none here, we don't mind the other animals in the house either they don't bother us. We aren't that noisy the only time the volume goes up is when we are about to be fed and that's it really. So can you pls consider us to join your family? you wont regret it we are such fun we promise, our SH mum is really going to miss our antics! ⯑Calling all people crackers about Quakers! hello everyone we are Frank and Ben, 2 brothers who are best buds. Sky, Sowyer and Topper

3 amigos - sky - black headed caique - most confident of the 3, will push his beak into your hand and fingers for a rub, won't step up in cage but once gets to know you, will step up outside of cage. Much happier flying and pottering about exploring and causing trouble. Eats tidy mix, AS no sunflower/no peanut mix. And fruit and veggies. Has occasional tiffs with the yellow head. In time with patience, this beautiful looking bird can become a real companion as loves to receive scratches. Sowyer- yellow capped caique - at first I thought hand shy, a beautiful well looked after bird, over time, sowyer has accepted head and cheek tickles and though shy is slowly becoming more confident. Pushing his/her cheeks up when I whistle and chattering back, usually pairing up with topper the lovebird, these two when out are never far apart. Topper is shy, and does not step up, but will follow sowyer so will go in and out as cage as sowyer does. Topper also preens sowyer. Sowyer over the week or so that he has been with us has become more confident at being handled by us, but I do think any new home would need to take slow steps as I think it is more that we are new people than anything else. All 3 birds eat a diet of tidy mix, AS and fruit and veg. Love a nice spray and love to be out and about exploring, flying and generally being chatty cheeky little chickens. Also not bothered by children and happy with both men and women.

I'm an Alexandrine and my safehouse Dad has called me Lucky. I love my fruit - grapes, apples and especially especially almonds as they're my favourites. I'm eating pretty bird at the moment and am not particularly fussy. I'm a quiet bird and have quite an array of tunes I sing and love being handled by all members of the family. I'm great with kids and the safehouse little people (3 and 18 months) love talking to me and I'll sit with them for a little while. I like being out of my cage and love flying from my cage to the other cage of my neighbour to say hello. This bird is suitable for a family, single people and doesn't have a favourite within the family. It's used to dogs, cats and other birds and is a lovely little one.

Mable
diesel

Hi, my name is Diesel and I am about 8 yrs old. After spending the last 8 yrs in a small cage, I am a bit shy and nip when I am scared (instead of flying away). I don’t mean to and all I want is your affection, but I don’t know how to accept it yet.I need a woman carer, who is not afraid of a little nip and who can give the time needed to build a relationship with me. My foster mum can pick me up but I am unsure as I am not used to it. I love fresh fruit and veg and am currently eating AS30 seed mix. I can be a bit noisy, but really I just want you to come say hi and acknowledge me. I am quiet at night, I promise. If you can offer me a loving forever home, I promise with time, you’ll have a new best friend.

Coco and Lols
Alani and Kaipo

We are two very active lovebirds. Although not quite hand tame, and a bit nervous inside of the cage, we still like to be spoken to and know what you're getting up to. We will watch your every move and come to the front of the cage to see you, please come and say hi to us! Outside of the cage however we become more confident and enjoy having a fly, seeing what's about and landing on you when we think you're not looking! Kaipo(?)(The yellow one) is the most confident with this while Alani(?)(the green one) watches and follows behind. It's possible that with time and patience we could learn to be more relaxed around our adoptive parents, we're already quite liking this lady, just still not sure about those hands coming towards us! Food is a great way to earn our trust. Currently we are eating seed with offerings of fruit and veg daily, bird greens, and vitamin drops in our water. Sometimes we will eat some of the fruit but mostly we don't bother. We still like to have options though. We are mostly quiet throughout the day but when we do start to talk we are can be quite loud and enthusiastic! Especially if there is music playing that we want to sing along with! It's always good to be the loudest thing in the room! Unfortunately we were left abandoned at a pet store so we can't tell you our history or our age. Since being found we have been housed by a nice man at the pet store, picked up by the charity and taken to vets and had health checks before being placed in a foster home. Although we like meeting new people it would be really nice now to find a forever home where we don't have to move again. It can be quite tiring and stressful. I have to confess, I don't know which one is Alani and which one is Kaipo! But I tell them that and apologise and mostly get around it by just saying things like "oh, look who it is!" And not actually acknowledging I do t know who it is!

Hello!! I'm Bentley, I'm a 4 year old Alexandrine Parrot. I have been with my safe house family for about 4 weeks now. My safe house Mummy isn't my favourite person as she is changing my diet, I am now on tidymix seed. She's trying me with these Pellets but I refuse to eat them and throw them around my cage. I love my vegetables and fruit, especially orange and blueberries. I am not totally keen on coming out of my cage, as I'm not used to it, but with lots of encouragement I've been out a few times and I have really enjoyed flying around and my favourite place seems to be on top of the curtain pole. But I struggle to then find my way back to my cage. I don't step up, I don't like hands. I will allow my food and water bowls to be taken out and put back in again, I scramble to the back of my cage. I make some beautiful sounds and as you can see I am such a handsome chap.

Blue

I'm Blue and i'm a lovely 3 year old male Indian ringneck. I'm looking for a new owner and i would like to find somebody who is at home alot as i just love to be out of my cage. I am a little nervous but i will soon settle in to my new home, it only took me a couple of weeks and i was taking food from the safehouse's hand. I can be very vocal during the day and when i want feeding, so bare this in mind when you apply for me, its not screaming but tweeting sounds as i don't really talk. I can also be messy but what bird is not. I'm ok with children 8 years old and above. I love my fruit and veggies and this is fed as well my normal mix of food. I'm in great shape as you can see from picture and i'm in good health. So that's me, Blue and if you think you can offer me a loving forever home, send a email to rehoming@problemparrots.co.uk

Nigel

Nigel has an unknown history as he was found bird, after flying through someone's door one evening. He is not hand tame but feel this could come with time, but is learning to step up on a perch. He's a vocal lad who could benefit from birdy company. He chats with birds on tv and if you play him a video of himself chatting he also responds well. He seems quite taken with my teenage daughter who plays him music. Eating a tidymix and seed mix at present, trying daily to introduce veggies and fruit although this is a slow process but we're getting there! If you think you can offer Nigel the company and friendship he is looking for please send an email to rehoming@problemparrots.co.uk

If you think you can offer any of the birds a loving forever home, send a email about your experience and about you to rehoming@problemparrots.co.uk
