Bremen travel diary July 17 to july 23, 2018

Arrived at Bremen on June 17th, 2018 at about 5 pm we decide to discover the surroundings in particular the symbol of the city: Bremen’s musicians Arrivé à Brême le 17 juin 2018 vers 17h nous décidons de découvrir les alentours et notamment le symbole de la ville: Les musiciens de Brême

DAY 1

18.06.2018

First day in Germany, we discover Bremen’s university and we attend a class of thermodynamics, then a presentation of the university by a representative. Premier jour en Allemagne, nous découvrons l’université de Brême et nous assistons à un cours de thermodynamique, puis une présentation de l’université par un représentant.
In the afternoon we made a small stroll in the biggest park of Bremen, then we attend to a guided tour, We have discovered the history of the city as well as these magnificent little hidden streets. L’après-midi nous avons fait une petite balade dans le parc le plus grand de Brême, puis nous avons eu le droit à une visite guidée, Nous avons donc découvert l’histoire de la ville ainsi que ces magnifiques petite rues cachées.

DAY 2

19.06.2018

Second day in Germany, the day begins with a physics class about electromagnetism. Then we have met Kimberly, an old student of the university who made us discover the campus. On the afternoon we followed an inorganic chemistry class then we spent the evening with Kimberly who made us discover student’s districts of the city. Deuxième jour en Allemagne, la journée commence par un cours de physique sur l’électromagnétisme. Nous avons ensuite rencontrer Kimberly une ancienne étudiante de l’université qui nous a fait découvrir le campus. L’après midi nous avons suivi un cours de chimie inorganique puis nous avons passer la soirée avec Kimberly qui nous a fait découvrir les quartiers étudiant de la ville.

DAY 3

20.06.2018

Third day in Germany, in the morning we had the opportunity to visit the labs of the university in which researches on mushrooms took place. In the afternoon first years student in bachelor's degree had a session of practical class and we had the opportunity to observed them and to asked them questions, it was an exchange very interesting. Troisième jour en Allemagne, le matin nous avons eu la chance de visiter les labos de l’université dans lesquels des recherches sur les champignons avaient lieu. L’après midi les premières années en licence avaient une séance de TP et nous avons eu l’opportunité de les observer et de leur poserdes questions, ce fut un échange très intéressant.

DAY 4

Fourth day in Germany, we took a train to Bremerhaven. We spend the morning to Alfred Wegener’s institute for the polar and marine research where we had a visit and a presentation of the research made over there. In the afternoon we visit the museum of the emigration, the concept to follow the life of an emigrant during its trip was very original and enriching. Quatrième jour en Allemagne, nous partons en train direction Bremerhaven. Nous passons la matinée à l’institut Alfred Wegener pour la recherche polaire et marine où nous avons eu le droit à une visite et une présentation des recherches faite là-bas. L’après midi nous avons visité le musée de l’émigration, dont le concept de suivre la vie d’un émigré durant son périple était très original et enrichissant.

DAY 5

22.06.2018

Fifth and last day in Germany, we attend a conference on glues and adhesives in the Fraunhofer’s institute situated on the campus of the university then we had a fast visit of the premises of the institute. Then we made an assessement or the trip with a representative of the university. In the afternoon we were free to take advantage of the city ont last time before leaving, so in the evening we were to a restaurant where there was the famous currywurzt, it was a very good evening. Next day we left for France a little bit sad to leave this city which had welcomed us during a week. Cinquième et dernier jour en Allemagne, nous assistons à une conférence sur les colles et adhésifs à l’institut Fraunhofer situé sur le campus de l’université puis nous avons eu le droit à une rapide visite des locaux de l’institut. Nous avons ensuite fait un bilan de notre séjour avec les représentants de l’université. Nous avons ensuite eu l’après midi de libre pour pouvoir profiter de la ville une dernière fois avant de partir, le soir nous sommes donc aller dans un restaurant servant les fameuses currywurzt, ce fut une très bonne soirée. Le lendemain nous sommes donc repartis pour la France un peu triste de quitter cette ville qui nous avait accueilli pendant une semaine.

To conclude it was a very enriching trip. Bremen is a very beautiful city, alive and a lot of surprises, the ambiancie was very pleasant and welcoming. We learnt many things in particular thanks to the numerous visits of institute and museums. We were also able to see the differences between the students and the university in Germany and in France what was sometimes surprising. We all left Bremen with beautiful memories...

En conclusion ce fut un voyage très enrichissant. Brême est une très belle ville pleine de vie et de surprises, l’ambiancie y est très agréable et accueillante. Nous avons appris beaucoup de choses notamment grâce aux nombreuses visites d’institut et de musée. Nous avons également pu voir les nombreuses différences entre les étudiants et l’université en Allemagne et en France ce qui fut parfoit assez surprenant. Nous sommes tous repartis de Brême avec de beaux souvenirs...
