“It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.” ― Voltaire

Early one morning

With time to kill

I borrowed Jebb's rifle

And sat on a hill

I saw a lone rider

Crossing the plain

I drew a bead on him

To practice my aim

My brother's rifle

Went off in my hand

A shot rang out

Across the land

The horse, he kept running

The rider was dead

I hung my head

I hung my head

I set off running

To wake from the dream

My brother's rifle

Went into the sheen

I kept on running

Into the south lands

That's where they found me

My head in my hands

The sheriff he asked me

Why had I run

And then it come to me

Just what I had done

And all for no reason

Just one piece of lead

I hung my head

I hung my head

Here in the court house

The whole town was there

I see the judge

High up in the chair

Explain to the court room

What went through your mind

And we'll ask the jury

What verdict they find

I felt the power

Of death over life

I orphaned his children

I widowed his wife

I begged their forgiveness

I wish I was dead

I hung my head

I hung my head

Early one morning

With time to kill

I see the gallows

Up on a hill

And out in the distance

A trick of the brain

I see a lone rider

Crossing the plain

And he'd come to fetch me

To see what they'd done

And we'll ride together

To kingdom come

I prayed for God's mercy

'Cause soon I'd be dead

I hung my head

American IV: The Man Comes Around

every time he sings hung my head it means a different thing like he literally hung his head or he cried into his palms

“I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.” ― Woody Allen

johnny cash fells like he is going to die soon so he is talking about how he is a shell of his former self and how he is a pretender to his past.

American IV: The Man Comes Around

Hurt by six inch nales

Sung by johnny cash

I hurt myself today

To see if I still feel

I focus on the pain

The only thing that's real

The needle tears a hole

The old familiar sting

Try to kill it all away

But I remember everything

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know goes away

In the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns

Upon my liar's chair

Full of broken thoughts

I cannot repair

Beneath the stains of time

The feelings disappear

You are someone else

I am still right here

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know goes away

In the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

If I could start again

A million miles away

I would keep myself

I would find a way

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” ― Albert Einstein

he is talking about how people try to hold back progress but cant so it is point less

The Times They Are a-Changin' (album)

Times they are a changin by bob dylan

Sung by bob dylan

Come gather around people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

You'll be drenched to the bone

And if your breath to you is worth saving

Then you better start swimming or you'll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changing

Come writers and critics

Who prophesize with your pen

And keep your eyes wide

The chance won't come again

And don't speak too soon

For the wheel's still in spin

And there's no telling who that it's naming

For the loser now will be later to win

Cause the times they are a-changing

Come senators, congressmen

Please heed the call

Don't stand in the doorway

Don't block up the hall

For he that gets hurt

Will be he who has stalled

There's the battle outside raging

It'll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls

For the times they are a-changing

Come mothers and fathers

Throughout the land

And don't criticize

What you can't understand

Your sons and your daughters

Are beyond your command

Your old road is rapidly aging

Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand

Cause the times they are a-changing

The line it is drawn

The curse it is cast

The slowest now

Will later be fast

As the present now

Will later be past

The order is rapidly fading

And the first one now will later be last

Cause the times they are a-changing

The desert fields

By Kaiden Kyle Robert casey

there was a land of vast beauty, a land populated by a People called the operarii

these people lived off the land, they did not have the riches of gold, but they lived free and equal,

but one day a group of men covered in gold and silver, their eyes covered with black paint,

these people called themselves the divites, came from a land of waste and power where kings fought and grabbed what they wanted,

the divites looked down on the operarii, seeing them as stupid savages, but they needed them so the made a proposal to the operarii.

the king of the divites said,'' you operarii know this land better than us so we can help you if you help us, bring us the fur of any animal you kill and we will pay you in gold and jewelry''.

the young operarii not knowing the greed of the divites did their bidding, the operarii soon became rich from this, soon they started selling there land and buying things they did not need, but when the divites started to sell them food that they hunted and started taxing them for having land the soon started to regrett this

the operarii soon told the king about their displeasure to this and he screamed at them in a voice that would shatter walls,''HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR KING THIS WAY AFTER EVERY THING I DO FOR YOU''. the operarii were confused by this because they never had a king before and did not remember him being their king but they were too busy killing animals and chopping down the forests for their city's.

years later the operarii had all but forgotten their past way of life and lived in polluted city's where the rich lived on top and the poor on the bottom.their land black with pollution and all animals dead besides the crows, and the divites all but gone and moved on to the next untainted land.
