The Reason to invade Normandy was to get closer to Germany because Germany was on the defensive.

The Battle took place on the beaches of Normandy, France. It was very significant because It really pushed Germany more into the defensive mode.
The Outcome of the battle was that the Germans had to fight on two fronts witch they did not want to do.
