We must set our sights ON A FUTURE THAT IS FAR-REACHING AND NOT YET REALIZED.

THE 2016-2019 STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDES OUR PATH FORWARD.

It touches every aspect of the School and is our guidepost against which we will measure our achievements.

WHERE WE ARE GOING

Porter-Gaud offers a dynamic educational experience to students from all communities. With a progressive curriculum and passionate faculty that ignite curiosity and discover talent in every child, we are a leading independent school in the Southeast.

OUR five focus areas ARE:

REACH

We want to extend a Porter-Gaud education to students from all communities, regardless of their ability to pay.

CURRICULUM

We will expand our articulated and flexible curriculum to be responsive to the educational landscape and to guide student learning and discovery from Pre-K to graduation.

FACULTY

We will recruit, retain, and support an exceptional faculty who reflect the diversity of the student body and are dynamic teachers deeply committed to the entire student experience.

CULTURE

We will foster a school culture of unity, inclusivity, compassion, and respect where the uniqueness of the individual is valued and celebrated.

financial STRENGTH & sustainability

We will continue to strengthen Porter-Gaud's financial foundation, where endowment supports a larger percentage of our program.

Religion, Character, and Student Leadership

  • Celebrate our Episcopal tradition while continuing to offer programs for those of different faiths.
  • Continue with character education programs, the addition of touchstones, and recognition of WATCH.
  • Expand student leadership opportunities while providing enhanced service learning projects in the Charleston community, across the country, and the world.

Endowment and Facilities Growth

  • Kick off an endowment campaign that will grow the endowment to $22M by 2020 and $30M by 2025 to support scholarships, financial aid, and programs.
  • Continue to guide facilities design and priorities to meet current and anticipated requirements, including the flexibility to support long-term program changes and growth.

As we implement this ambitious plan, we know the key to our success is our people -

our faculty and administrators,

students and alumni,

and our families - working together as one community.

Together, we are Porter-gaud.

Join us in ensuring Porter-Gaud's future success.

OUR MISSION

Porter-Gaud is an Episcopal, coeducational, independent, college preparatory day school. We acknowledge the sovereignty of God, recognize the worth of the individual, and seek to cultivate a school community that endows its citizens with a foundation of moral and ethical character and intellect. Porter-Gaud fosters a challenging academic environment that honors excellence in teaching and learning, respects differences, expects honesty, and applauds achievement. The school strives to create an environment that nurtures and protects what we value most in our children: their faith, their curiosity, their talents, their integrity, their humanity, and their dreams.
