Isabela's Photovoice Portfolio

Week 1

These are all my 6 photos (vertical and horizontal) or my family member, a familiar object and a selfie. The book pictures are of a familiar object, in this photo I put the book on my stool and desk and flipped the pages while taking the photo and hoping for a good result. The group pictures we took in the courtyard and we took a lot of quick photos and just picked the best ones, these are for the selfie ones. And the last 2 are my mom at 6 am in the morning because i forgot to take the pictures the night before.
These are my best three of the familiar object and a selfie. The top one is a picture of me and Michelle and me in the courtyard. And the bottom 2 pictures are a picture of a book that I am reading.

Week 2

Top Left Photo is a portrait or my friend, here she is sitting in front of a bush in the courtyard. The top right photo is a snapshot of my three friends jumping of a bench area in the courtyard this is a mid air picture which makes it a snapshot. The bottom left photo is a picture of me and Michelle and this is a snapshot picture because it has emotion of sillyness. The bottom right photo is another portrait picture because she it was a process for her to sit down and get the right angle.

week 3

In these photos I see a group of diverse friends that are having fun and how are talking and hanging out with each other in class. This shows that these photos are about diversity and how people of different races could still be friends. I know this because it is obvious by the color of their skin.

Week 4

My friendships are very important to me. I have close friends that are different races and have different backgrounds then me. The picture speaks about how we are united no matter our race, culture, gender, etc. We are all people, students, and youths that are united. In my school there are lots of mixed ethnicities that are important. To recognize the different races for example there are different clubs at my school like a black student union group and a gay rights club. In this day and age people of color are more killed innocently by police officers and many young black youths are killed frequently because of their race. One of the ways we can change this is by creating a good school environment where diverse friendships are welcomed at a young age. I want people who see my picture to think about how we can enhance our police to become more diverse and welcoming of everyone and their personal stories. Some of my friends are different races then me, but having a different skin color makes our friendship stronger because of the different stories that a black person would have from a white person. This does not prevent my friendship with them. Which is important because not everyone is the same race.
