The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, aired for the first time Sept 10, 1990 on NBC. The show was a huge success starring rapper, actor, turned producer Will Smith. Smith, played a teen raised in West Philadelphia. After getting into a fight on a local basketball court, his mom sent him to live with his very wealthy aunt and uncle in their Bel-Air mansion. The cast, all agreed that it was hard reuniting without one of the main characters of the show James Avery. He passed away at the age of 68, in 2013.

Avery was known as 'Uncle Phil.' He wore many hats, not only was he Smith's uncle, but also the father of the Banks' family and an attorney turned judge. The show had some great memories such as this one with Smith's estranged father. In this scene, we see an emotional Smith trying to make amends with his father, who left him at a young age, and often made promises he did not keep. And, of course, the late 'Uncle Phil' shown here comes to his rescue. Get your Kleenex ready!

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired for it's final season, May 20, 1996. A 6-year sitcom with many memorable moments, dramatizations, changes, laughter and fun. And even in 2017, its legacy lives on...
