Rise

THE VISION “Aisling” of the Celtic School of Yoga is the calling back, a singing in, a homecoming, to our highest state of Being through the practices of breath, song, story, poetry, yoga, movement and stillness, in kinship with soul friends and a deep rapport with the Rhythm of the natural world.

The purpose of all the practices, stories and ideas shared through the Celtic School of Yoga immersions and teacher training is to reconnect to and trust your own inner wisdom, experience and awaken into the natural world and the Rhythms that run through everything to live into the rapture of living.

Anam Cara, Soul Friends

Together we will explore how to reconnect with the land and build a nourishing connection to the stories and traditions that nourished your ancestral lines. The purpose of all of this is will be the development of a yoga practice that sustains your capacity for joyful living and to share it through the service of teaching yoga.

The immersions and teacher trainings are for anyone wanting to deepen their yoga practice and connection to life, land and stories. It is not necessary to want to become a yoga teacher. The teachings and practices are tools to learn to love your life and live a life you love.

IMMERSIONS 1, 2 & 3 (Total 100 Hours)

Immersions will focus on the non-dual philosophy and mythology of the Celtic tradition alongside the non-dual philosophy of Indian Tantra (as epitomised in Anusara yoga) and emphasise the connections and counterpoints involved in both. The emphasis of the philosophy module will be on the Earth wisdom, poetry, music, myth, sacred sites and philosophy of the Celtic world.

These transformational Immersions are designed for all students of all levels, backgrounds, religions and ages wishing to engage and deepen the experience of your heart, mind, body and world through your yoga practice. There will be no instruction on learning to teach yoga in these beginning immersion modules, and they are necessary to participate in the teacher training modules. You can expect the days to fly by and be filled with revelation through music, story and myth, philosophy, hatha yoga practice, bio-mechanical technical alignment based on the Anusara® yoga universal alignment principles, breath, meditation, visits to sacred sites in the company of other like-hearted friends.

Practice

TEACHER TRAINING 1, 2 & 3 (Total 100 Hours)

The Celtic School of Yoga Teacher Training modules are fun, empowering and taught in sequential order from the very basics of how to set up a classroom to becoming the catalyst for someone else's transformation through your skillful guidance of an uplifting, safe and knowledgeable yoga class. If you’ve never taught anyone anything you will learn the skills to guide people into their hearts through hatha yoga in an inspiring, safe and skillful hour and a half class.

If you are already teaching another style of hatha yoga, you will gain more tools and skills to refine your teaching. Even if you never want to teach yoga, you will learn tools and communication skills that will serve to live more joyfully in your daily life. The Celtic School of Yoga Teacher Training program is taught as an intensive, broken into six sections following the Celtic Wheel of the Year: Immersions 1, 2, 3, Teacher Training 1, 2, 3.

This Teacher Training is for anyone wanting to teach yoga with the Celtic School of Yoga vision, develop the skills to teach with precision to alignment, and share the love of yoga from their own authentic voice and experience.

If you have completed any 200 hr teacher training in any style of yoga, or any Anusara immersions and desire to deepen and refine to focus your teaching skills, you may join the Teacher Training modules for a 100hr Certificate.

T E A C H E R S

Jack and Benita have a combined 50 years experience practicing and teaching yoga and have been collaborating teaching yoga retreats, workshops and immersions for many years. Both are Senior Certified Anusara Teachers, advanced teacher trainers, subject matter specialists and share a similar Anusara yoga and Astanga background. Through an evolutionary synthesis of time, experience and understanding, are offering workshops, retreats, immersions, and teacher trainings rooted in a Celtic context through the vision (Aisling) of The Celtic School of Yoga.

T E S T I M O N I A L

"Jack and Benita took me on a journey of deep self-inquiry that opened me to many new sides of myself. They created a safe space where we were free to deconstruct our layers, be seen, be heard and encouraged to step into a new way of being, an awareness, to open to rapture. Their delicate balance of masculine and feminine creates a container of support and encouraged us to explore our emotions, to sit in the uncomfortable and embrace our power, to live our truth and share all of our gifts with the world. It is so much more than a teacher training program, it’s a soul family! Their combined years of experience, knowledge in complementary academic terrain, awards the course a multitude of cohesive dimensions. Not only did I grow in my yoga practice and knowledge, but I grew as a person learning confidence, finding my authentic voice, appreciating the beauty of life, and connecting with my mind, body and soul. So much love, laughter, spirit, authenticity, strength, and FUN on the playground. " - Tracy, Portland, Oregon

He is a principal author of a seminal book on the parallels between yoga and the Celtic world and he has also recorded three acclaimed albums of yoga music.
