Amy Styling her own life

By Katherine Seus

For as long as i can remember, Amy has always been fascinated by beauty. From painting my nails, to experimenting with new hairstyles, I have loved watching her find her passion and hone her talents doing something she loves. This project focuses on Amy, and celebrates her journey toward accomplishing her goals.

Ever since she was young, Amy has always wanted to work in the beauty industry, but she had trouble taking the first step. She wanted to go to cosmetology school, but at her parent's bidding, she instead started taking business classes at Oregon State University. After one term, she decided that she would rather follow her own dreams, and she enrolled in the Northwest College of Cosmetology.

Amy works along side the salon owner, taking her own clients as well as assisting other stylists, all while gaining valuable experience.

After extensive schooling at the Northwest College, Amy graduated and obtained her license to practice. After searching for the perfect place to start her career, she came across De & Co., a new salon with talented stylists, and an opportunity for Amy to improve her skills.

Unique braided styles are one of Amy's specialties.

De & Co. was the perfect fit. Amy has been able to build a clientele, and take her own clients, as well as learn valuable skills through working closely with the salon owner.

Amy's bubbly personality allows her to connect with the clients, making them feel comfortable, and her talent for styling hair has allowed her to build a clientele early on in her career.

In addition to styling hair, Amy also cuts, and colors hair.

While Amy continues to thrive at De & Co., she still has ambitious plans for the future. It is her dream to open her own salon that specializes in hair styling, specifically wedding hairstyles, her specialty.

"Being a hairstylist has been such a rewarding experience for me. When people look their best, it seems like their attitude follows suit; just playing a little part in making someone feel beautiful has provided me with so much happiness, and it feels like I'm just getting started. " -Amy Seus

I am so proud of her accomplishments, and look forward to seeing where the future takes this talented Individual.
