PASSING GRADE

THE SOONERS TURNED IN THEIR BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE IN BIG 12 PLAY, POSTING A .593 FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE AND FINISHING WITH 89 POINTS VERSUS KANSAS ON WEDNESDAY.

TEXTBOOK PERFORMANCE

Maddie Manning led the Sooners in scoring with 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Her .889 field goal percentage is tied for first among Big 12 players in league play.

Peyton Little scored 10 of her 16 points in the opening quarter. The redshirt senior was 7-of-11 from the field with four rebounds and two assists against the Jayhawks.

Gioya Carter added in 11 points, nine of which came in the third quarter, to give the Sooners a 20-point lead over Kansas. Carter was 5-of-7 from the field in just 12 minutes of action.

Gabbi Ortiz controlled the OU offensive attack throughout the morning, chipping in 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. The junior is shooting .469 from 3-point range against Big 12 foes this season.

BLOCK CITY

  • OU recorded a season-high 13 blocked shots against Kansas, which ranks as the second-most in a single game in school history.
  • Nancy Mulkey led the Sooners with eight blocks, the fourth-most in a single game in OU history. The freshman is now tied for 10th on OU's single-season record list with 53 blocks this year. Mulkey has blocked 15 shots against Kansas this season.
  • The 13 blocks by the Sooners against Kansas rank as the 10th-most in a single game this year in Division I.

FINAL EXAM

  • The Sooners are now 12-1 at home this year. During its eight-game home winning streak, OU has averaged 81.3 points per game and outscored its opponents by an average margin of 18.6.
  • OU’s 37-point margin of victory against Kansas ranks as the Sooners’ largest win over the Jayhawks in the Big 12 era.
  • OU improved to 15-0 this year when holding its opponents to under 70 points.
  • Oklahoma’ 143 blocks rank as the fifth-most in school history and are the most by the Sooners in one season since setting a school record with 211 rejections in 2008--09.
  • The Sooners won their 33rd consecutive game (12-0 this season) when finishing with a higher field goal percentage than their opponent.
  • Oklahoma scored 52 points in the paint Wednesday, matching KU's point total for the entire game.

No. 18 OU travels to Stillwater on Saturday to face Oklahoma State in the second Bedlam matchup of the season. The game will tip off at noon and air live on Fox Sports Network.
