Amity Elementary School February 2021

Parent Information

We are Back!

It is very exciting to have kids back in the building and it has been going well. It is lots of reminders for kids to give others space, but they have been doing great with their masks. Learning and giggles - it makes a heart happy.

A Few Reminders:

  • Drop and pick up seems to be going well. Thank you! Please continue to adhere to the grade level times. The staggered times allow us to maintain physical distance when kids enter and leave the building.
  • Face coverings are required. A face covering is defined as: a cloth, paper, or disposable face covering that covers the nose and mouth.
  • Face shields are generally NOT allowed. If your child needs to wear a face shield, we will need a medical statement from your doctor telling us the condition that prevents your child from wearing a face covering.
  • Students need to do their work on the 'School at Home' days. That work is how we track attendance. They are marked with an unexplained absence when no work is completed.
  • If your child is SICK, KEEP them HOME, and contact the office. We want everyone to stay healthy.
  • Let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help.

We will be capping enrollment at 16 students per day. Students registered after the cap will be in a lottery draw for the next open slots. You may register students K-5 at this time.

Counselor Corner

It's been an exciting few weeks here at AES with our students returning. We can't even tell you how happy we are to have kids back in the building! This is what our teachers have trained to do because they love teaching kids! The connection kids make with their teachers and staff members in the building can make all the difference in how they perceive school and their motivation to perform. If you notice your child is struggling to feel connected and motivated, do not hesitate to reach out to their teacher and/or me. I am a resource available to all students for any type of concern. I work with kids to help improve their confidence, mindset, behavioral, social, academic, and emotional management skills. It makes my day to help a student feel successful. Let me know if I can help!
