Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942. He real name was Cassius Marcella Clay Jr. He grew up with a sister and four brothers. Muhammad Ali is from Louisville Ky. His father painted billboards and his mother was a domestic helper. Muhammad Ali attend Central high school in Louisville. Cassius clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali in 1964, after he won the world title, and a year after he converted to Islam. He began as an amateur boxer when he was 12 years old. He had four wives and 9 kids. He had a daughter named Laila Ali who won all her match's

Why is He Famous?

Muhammad Ali is famous because he was a heavy weight boxing champion through the 1960s and 1970s. He had great achievements and he was the greatest of all time. He also, gave lots of speeches. At the age of 18, he won a gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 summer Olympics in Rome and turned professional later that year. Muhammad was forced to be in the military but he refused because he thought why fight for a country that does not fight for me.

One of Muhammad Ali accomplishment is national golden gloves light heavyweight champion which is one of his most important accomplishments. Another one is elected of boxing hall of fame. Also, light-heavyweight boxing and many more. Ali recorded two spoken word albums and a rhythm and blues song. Also, received two Grammy nominations.

Muhammad Ali's impact is that he was the world champion boxer that change history and made people believe in themselves and believe that they can do anything. Also he was a African American that was amazing at boxing but a few match's he didn't win.

Muhammad Ali is celebrated because he has his own quote that says '' float like a butterfly and sting like a bee you can't fight what you can't see''. Also Muhammad Ali died June 3, 2016, he is celebrated because of how important he was he was a black African American that changed history. He was a great man that Achieved a lot of awards. He also retired from boxing in 1981, in 1984 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Syndrome which his doctors attributed to boxing-related brain injuries.
