Make it Count! University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department's Mentor-Matching Program

What is Make it Count?

Make It Count (MIC) is a mentor-matching program for students and postdocs in the UF Entomology and Nematology department. The MIC program aims to foster professional networks and help students navigate challenges by creating space and structure for mentoring relationships.

Who is Make It Count for?

Make it Count is for all students and postdocs in UF's Entomology and Nematology Department. This includes postdocs, students of all degrees, and at all locations (Gainesville and RECs)!

This program is aimed at creating tangible positive impacts on the lives of students, particularly those in underrepresented groups.

Want to become a mentee or mentor?

Be a Mentee

Each mentor-mentee relationship is unique. Once enrolled, you and your mentor can connect using any platform and agree to meet as often as you like. While in the program, we encourage meeting with your mentor at least once per month, when possible. All participants must agree to and follow our Code of Conduct.

Be a Mentor

Mentors must be at least one year in their degree program, in good academic standing, and agree to the Code of Conduct. When joining the program, you will gain mentoring experience and skills. If you already mentor or supervise students, this is a great way to formalize those existing skills!
