Adams Elementary hosted its annual Author’s Day bringing fairytales to life with children’s projects and works of art throughout the campus! Students used their imagination and creativity to make magical fractured fairy tales. STEAM activities motivated students to become engineers, artists, mathematicians, scientists and authors! Fairy tales were celebrated with magical displays and tours were hosted by Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid, King Triton and Prince Charming!
Congratulations to Wright Elementary fourth-grader Hiliana De Leon on receiving a $25 gift card from Learning.com for spending the most time completing keyboarding exercises! Harlandale ISD students in third through eighth grade were encouraged to participate in the Learning.com Adaptive Keyboarding Contest from May 1-31. Hiliana completed 1,521 minutes of keyboarding time. Her Computer Lab Teacher Eric Medina also received a gift card for encouraging her and all the students to improve their keyboarding skills. During the contest, Harlandale ISD students raised their average words per minute by 87 percent!
Harlandale High School Principal Alfred Anthony recently donated benches to Wright Elementary’s new playground! Football players and fifth-grade students worked together to add a little color to the benches! Way to go, students!
HAC students recently had the opportunity to tour the San Antonio Police Department's helicopter pad at the Stinson Municipal Airport! Way to go, students!
