February's Meeting & Newsletter Caterham WI

We've successfully kicked off 2017 with our first meeting in January and hope you're all excited for our next meeting on the 15th February - Gin Tasting!

Hosted by Kingston Distillers we'll hear a fascinating talk on the history of Gin, how they make it and the conservation work that they do. We'll sample some of their exclusive London Dry Gin & the Sloe Gin that they make with Juniper Berries from Boxhill. The evening will be rounded off with a quiz and a prize bottle of Beckett's Gin.

There will be an additional charge of £2 for this meeting and pre-registration is required by the 8th February. You can do so via email or click the button below:

  • Refreshments: keeping with the gin theme, we'd love some "lemon & lime" treats if you can bring any along!
  • Spare change for the raffle
  • Donations, crafts & goodies for our side tables... more info below!

SIDE tables At our meetings

The "Market Table" for unwanted food has been so successful we are expanding it to be for any items you don't want (kitchen items, clothes etc). "One Woman's Junk" is another woman's treasure!! The only rule of the table is that at the end of the evening if your items are still there you take them home again. So let's share our unwanted goods!

We are continuing with the concept of bringing your makes and crafts to sell to your fellow WI members. 10% of the proceeds go to Caterham WI.

Stripey stoRk

Thank you to everyone who brought in donations for Stripey Stork, they were thrilled to receive them. Some of the items they want are very baby specific. However, they also need basic items we can all pick up in the supermarket such as shampoo, moisturiser, nappies and wipes etc etc.

We would like to be able to give a good donation to them each month so could everyone try to bring one item to donate? Click here to see the items they need all the time.

We look forward to hearing back from all the members who are volunteering in January!
