Claire and Zoe Winthrop Ski cross sisters

Claire and Zoe are two sisters from Edinburgh who spent the 2016/17 winter travelling Europe, living in their van, training and racing ski cross and teaching children to ski to fund their season. In 2017, they were both selected to represent Team GB at the World Junior Freestyle championship in Valmalenco, Italy.

Ski Cross is an exciting, high adrenaline winter sport. It involves negotiation a series of jumps, berms, rollers and turns while racing up to 3 others side by side. This is a video of the girls from the small final at the 2017 Swiss National championship.

Claire and Zoe are working hard as a team to achieve their common goal of going to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Not only do they spend the whole winter training and racing together in Europe. They also spend the off season in the gym pushing each other to be stronger, fitter and better. Their team spirit and close bond is unique and will take them far in their training.
2017/18 SEASON: Both Claire and Zoe have achieved the points criteria to compete in Europa Cup. This will see them travelling across Europe to compete against some of the best on the continent. They also aim to be selected again for the World Junior Championship.
Alongside this Europa Cup calendar, the girls will train with the British Ski Cross team, under head coach Guillaume Nantermod.
