Gandhi By Alex Smith

Gandhi was the leader of the independence movement in India. He achieved independence by using non violence protest against the British.

The British ruled India from 1858 to 1947

One way Gandhi protested against the British was he encouraged Indians to spin their own cloth so that they stop buying cloth from the British

Another thing he did to protest against the British was the salt march. Salt was being heavily taxed by the British rulers, Indians could be thrown in jail for making or selling salt.
