A Note from the Principal...

We have had a great week celebrating Red Ribbon Week and learning about being respectful of ourselves and others during our Character Counts lessons with Mrs. Shake. We are looking forward to Book Character Day to see all of the unique costumes. Please make sure to send back your addresses of Veterans so we can send them letters and pictures. Have a great weekend and be safe!

Important Information

Third Grade Students participate in "Socktober"

Do you know what the most commonly asked-for item at a homeless shelter is? Socks! Sadly, it's also the least commonly donated item, so our third graders wanted to continue our annual sock collection to help those in need. Students designed posters and flyers, recorded a video, created slideshows and presented them to each classroom, contacted local businesses, and kept a count of how many socks were collected. Socks were collected from October 18 until October 27. Students collected a total of over 1,000 pairs pairs of socks! The socks collected will be donated to the Homeless Veterans and Families Shelter in Indianapolis.

Character Counts with Mrs. Shake

Mrs. Shake visited classrooms to talk about Red Ribbon Week and how our “Mane” Traits help us make good choices. This month students learned about our “Mane” Trait, Respect. Grades K-2 read the book “Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse”, a story emphasizing being respectful and apologizing when being disrespectful. Grades 3-4 participated in a Respect Game Show where classmates teamed up to compete and demonstrate ways to show respect.
