Year 6 Leadership
With the wonderful and much needed rain earlier this week, we had to postpone our Year 6 Leadership Camp and move it to next Thursday, 16 February and Friday, 17 February. Fingers are crossed that the rain will hold off for us for those dates. On Tuesday Mr Doug Reckord, Principal of Bournda Environmental Education Centre came to speak to the Year 6 students about Leadership and the camp.
We are looking forward to a visit at camp from Mr Terry Dixon (former principal of Tathra Public School and well-known local identity), who will come to the camp on our last day to speak about what he believes are the qualities of good leaders. Terry is an amazing speaker and a man whom admire very much. I am sure the students will learn a lot from his wise words of wisdom.
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who were voted by their peers as House Leaders last week during our first House meetings for the year

2017 TPS Swimming Carnival
What a hot and sunny day for our Swimming Carnival yesterday! Thank you to Mrs Beard for all her work in organising the carnival and to the staff, parents, grandparents and carers who came along to help out and/or support the students during their races. I’d like to recognise all the Year 2 students who have competed for the first time today and those children who are not really swimming competitive but who entered events to have a go and earn points for their house. I loved the sportsmanship displayed by so many students as they shook hands and congratulated one another.
Congratulations to winners and placegetters and the students who will go on to represent the school at the Zone Swimming Carnival on 22 February at Candelo pool.
A special thank you to the Helping Hands Network for allowing us to have our Tathra PS coordinator Megan Cole at the carnival. It was fabulous to have Megan there yesterday.
