Kindergarten News August & september

Math - We will be working on number sense, which means making sure students understand that 1 represents one object, 10 represents ten objects, etc. We will also practice writing our numbers 0 to 20 and counting to 100.

Language Arts - We will review letter names, letter sounds, and how to write uppercase letters. We will also begin our Sight Words.

Science - We will begin our first engineering unit where we will combine familiar fairy tales with understanding the concepts of structure and function.

Social Studies - Our school social worker, Mrs. Johnna Glaser, will be talking with us about how to be a successful student at Tanglewood and how to be a good friend to others.

Our field trip to Applejack Pumpkin Patch will take place on Thursday, September 28, and we need parent volunteers. If you didn't sign up already and would like to attend, please let us know!

  • PAT Meeting on Tuesday, August 22 at 6 p.m.
  • PAT Meeting on Tuesday, September 26 at 6 p.m.
  • Kindergarten Field Trip to Applejack Pumpkin Patch on Thursday, September 28
