Budget Perspectives 2019 marks the latest ESRI conference to discuss policy issues relating to the upcoming budget. This year, Paschal Donohoe, TD, Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform launched the conference, while Seamus Coffey of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council delivered a presentation on the macroeconomic and fiscal context of the upcoming budget. ESRI researchers gave presentations on the topics of income growth and income distribution, lone-parent incomes and pre-testing policy.

This year's conference marks the last for Tim Callan (left, ESRI) who founded the conference in 1997. Tim Callan delivered the presentation Income Growth and Income Distribution in Ireland during the conference. Minister Paschal Donohoe (right) gave the opening address.
