Lorna Monday

Lorna Monday is originally from South Sudan and has lived in Yangani village, a part of Bidi Bidi Zone 5 for close to one year now. The 14-year-old shares the following about the water challenges in her village:

“Since my family and I arrived in the refugee settlement, drinking and bathing water has been a problem. Some organizations used to bring us water in lorries and fill our tanks but it was not enough for everybody in the village. When the solar water systems were constructed, things became more difficult because the system wouldn’t work without enough sunshine,” says Lorna.

“Because of these challenges, my friends and I would look for water from streams which were dirty, and caused us to get bilharzia and other infections.”

“I really thank Neverthirst and EAM for drilling a borehole in our village. Our water problems have now been solved, and we are happy. May the almighty God reward the hands that gave towards this borehole.”

Moro Moses

Moro’s family has lived in Yangani for over a year. Among the many challenges they have faced while living in the settlement is that the water problem has more severe. He says, “Life in the refugee settlement is very difficult, and without water, its even worse. My family has for several times spent days without bathing or washing because of lack of water.”

“I just want to thank Neverthirst and EAM for supporting us to get a borehole, from the bottom of my heart. You have saved us from a very heavy burden. Thank you for loving us. God bless you!”
