7th GRADE DIGITAL DESIGN COURSE

In this course students will be given the opportunity to explore the many elements of digital design while strengthening their own portfolios. Students will view and discuss works from distinguished designers in each medium, familiarizing themselves with the latest work and technology so that they may apply current techniques being used in the field to projects assigned in the classroom. Students will individually produce material for each medium of design to submit for critique, discussion, and grading.

Not only will each student be graded on individual assignments given throughout the eighteen week course, but students will also be expected to submit a digital portfolio of revised projects and a reflection assigned by the instructor at the end of the course for a final grade.

The purpose of this project based course is for students to not only familiarize themselves with the concept of digital art and its many genres, but to begin to develop a language for the craft while simultaneously improving their own work.

STEP 2: One by one we will sit in a chair in front of the whiteboard in the front of class

STEP 3: Whoever is not seated will write ONE WORD and draw ONE SYMBOL to represent the person in the seat. You will have 3 MINUTES for each person (communicate with each other so that you don't repent any words or images)

STEP 4: With the seated person's iPAD we will take a picture of the finished product.

STEP 5: Apply lighting effects and filters to the image using an app of your choice and post to GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

STEP 2: Get a partner to take a side profile image of your head. (from your neck up/fill the screen)

STEP 3: Drop that image in the SKETCHES PRO APP and carefully trace the outline of your profile. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON A SEPARATE LAYER!

STEP 5: Make a new layer and drag it underneath of your outline/black background.

STEP 6: On this new layer we will import the 20 images from the list you created earlier, resize and place them in the negative space.

STEP 7: Bring final design into another app to add filters/lighting effects and UPLOAD to Google Classroom.
