Asian Americans during World War II

"Innocent but Incarcerated"

How were they treated?

  • Japanese were sent to camps
  • Asians were discriminated

How they respond to such treatment?

  • They protested against the racial discrimination

Did they contribute anything to the cause of the war (WWII)?

The Japanese were fighting against the U.S. Many Asian Americans fought in the war for the U.S.

What is your analysis? Opinion? Reaction to the action(s) taken by each community?

The way Japanese were sent to camps were not fair because they were already living in the U.S. and just because Japan was our enemy doesn't mean we can put them into camps. It's ironic we were trying to free jews from camps, but we're putting Japanese into camps. Also Asian americans were discriminated constantly.

Mexicans Americans during World War lI

We sacrifice but we get hate

How were they treated?

They were working in some bad conditions. Also they were facing discrimination.

How did they respond to such treatment?

They protest and they started civil rights movements.

Did they contribute anything to the cause of the war?

Mexico sent a military force to fight against the Axis powers alongside U.S military forces in WWII

What is your analysis? Opinion? Reaction to the action(s) taken by each community?

I think the United States were taking advantage of the Mexican American because they needed to take care of their family so they needed cash work. Also they were not giving equal rights after the war. I think that's not fair that they faced sacrifices and still not get equal rights.
