What we all know and love:
Everyone is familiar with the well known fast food chain, McDonalds. Known for its Big Mac's, McFlurries or anything else on their menu. But what you might not know and what they sometimes fail to mention, is how unhealthy a lot of their menu items are.
The unhealthy truth of it all:
Although very delicious to many, most of the items on the McDonalds menu are so unhealthy. Packed with sodium and empty calories and loaded in saturated fat. In fact, most menu items are well over 200 calories.
The unhealthiest of them all:
You know the saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"? Well that is true, so it's best to stay away from probably the most unhealthy menu item on the McDonalds menu: the Big Breakfast with Hotcakes. It as the most calories and milligrams of sodium on the entire menu. It has exactly 1,350 calories, which is very close to the limit of 2000 calories a day, and 2100mgs of sodium. Good lord.
All hope is not lost, though:
Yes, there are many unhealthy foods at McDonald's, but you can still find a way to eat healthy, or at least healthier, at the establishment. For example, you could have a nice yogurt parfait, which contains 150 calories (very healthy btw) or if you are aren't in the mood for breakfast, I suggest the Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwich which only contains 380 calories.
