#LoveMyCOLibrary Summer 2017

In the summer of 2017, the Colorado State Library invited Coloradans to use the hashtag #LoveMyCOLibrary on social media to share what they love about their libraries. We received dozens of creative entries that celebrate the unique relationship that libraries have with their communities. Here are some of our favorites!
"We love our library because we have amazing teen volunteers who help us get ready for our 4th of July parade float!" -East Morgan County Library
Teens and staff at East Morgan County Library loved getting silly while building a parade float.
"A lovely day to make fairy and gnome houses outside for Messy Monday!" -Crested Butte Library
Several libraries sent photos of their summer learning events, like these kids crafting at Crested Butte Library.
These Summer Science Campers at Vail Public Library loved learning about weather and barometers.
Delta County Libraries staff members love summer reading.
Artist Dean Sneed showed his love for the Carnegie Library of Trinidad by creating this vibrant image.

Animals love the library, too! A horse waits patiently at Elizabeth Library (large photo), while Mazzie the therapy dog helps kids at Louisville Public Library make blankets for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley (inset).

Researchers love the CU Boulder archives.

Some library patrons sent photos of their favorite library sculptures, like these at Montrose Regional Library (left, right) and Mesa County Library (center).
Kids love storytime and music. Mesa County Libraries' Palisade Branch got a little louder than usual when staff member Kris got out his drums.
Teens at the Fruita Branch Library loved learning about robots while playing with LEGO kits purchased with a grant from the Colorado State Library.
Students and staff at CU Health Sciences Library and CU Boulder Libraries reminded us that sometimes it's all about loving the books (and a quiet place to read them).

Vail Public Library loves their newest Little Free Libraries.

Librarians love eclipses! Coloradans turned to their libraries for Solar Eclipse 2017 education, viewing parties, and of course those glasses (modeled here by staff from East Morgan County Library).

Margie loves the Conejos Library District.
