tim tadder inspired photography shoot

Daydreams
For this assignment we had to find a piece done by Tim Tadder to "recreate." I chose his double exposures pieces. I went for a "in the clouds" or "daydreaming" feel. Overall, I am happy with how it turned out. With it being my first time doing a double exposure, I learned a lot, and also have a lot to learn from here if I try it again. I wish you could see the sky a little more clearly and brighter in the background.

emotional photography shoot

In it Together
In this picture is my Dad and Step-Mom. I was trying to achieve an "In it together" type of feeling. For the emotional piece I also wanted it to give off a strong vibe. With the ring included, I feel as though it gives a whole different feel. With the ring it shows a "strong marriage," and without it it could almost be just a strong friendship. I really wanted to get that relationship feel. One major thing I wish I could change was the blurriness of the image. There are a lot of soft spots/blur/digital noise. Most importantly I wish the ring was in key focus. One thing I do like though, is the texture the shadows and highlights made on the veins. I feel as though it adds another important element to this photo. Overall I am pretty proud of this, and for the most part happy with how it turned out.

Light Painting photography schoot

Achievements
For this light painting shoot I was going for something I didn't quite achieve. I was going for a complete black screen with a "slash" of light piercing through. I wish I would've had the light more focused on the medals. Also, the background is distracting. If I would've chosen a plain white background, or even black, I think this would've turned out better. One major thing I was looking to include was the texture of the medals. Compositional wise I was trying to go by rule of thirds, but in this case I almost wish I hadn't. This definitely Isn't my best work and I am excited to try light painting again in the future and learn from this shoot.

Product Photography Shoot

Netflix 'n' Chill
I was going for a peaceful and cozy feel. I think I got what i was going for. The dim lighting and dark colors, with the pop of red really add to the relaxed feeling. The dim and dark lighting contrast with the pop of red in the popcorn, Netflix background, and candle flame. It makes it easy on the eye to look at the image. I like the perspective I used. With the whole laptop showing with the Netflix background. And just enough of the popcorn bin. I also like how i included the lit candle. It just adds a nice element to it. The one thing I dislike about this photo is the fact that the main focus is supposed to be the Netflix red sign, but the candle is dristracting. I also wish you could see the popcorn in the bin better, next time I would try a slightly different exposure.

Environmental Photography Shoot

Thrift
This shoot was aimed to capture Caroline thrifting. The bright colors of the shirts where meant to contrast the dull colors like the back wall. One little detail I noticed in the first photo, was that her bright blue nails match the shirt behind her. I used a shallow depth of field to try to focus in on the main point, Caroline. But also to include the bright contrasting colors. I lowered the contrast and brightness slightly, and raised the whites slightly. One thing that I wish I could change was the blurriness in her hand in the first picture. There also seems to be some digital noise. But overall, I am happy with how they turned out.

Lifestyle Photography Shoot

Running Lifestyle
This shot was aimed to portray lifestyle photography. I decided to capture my step-mom running. The idea was to include the sun to incorporate a happy feel to the image. The low angle was to add a different kind of perspective. Overall there is a lot of distractions, and digital noise in this image. There are a lot of things I would go back and do differently.
