At OFLA this weekend I attended a session that shared this website: www.3modes.org that I thought looked awesome! The teachers at ADLAI E. STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL in Illinois shared this resources that their department put together and share with students for additional support on strategies for each mode of communication based on their current level for French, Hebrew, Spanish, Chinese and German. Proficiency options available: Novice, Intermediate and Advanced, and are broken down based on different areas of language use.
Student Travel Opportunity
Sara Marrero, a Spanish teacher at Eastmoor Academy will take an international travel tour to France and Spain in 2020. The tour will start in Paris and end in Madrid. The tour is 12 days and will be July 23 - August 3, 2020. If you are interested in getting a group of students to join her on this trip please let her know. For every 6 students registered 1 chaperone is allotted. If 6 students register, you can travel with Sara and the group for free! She is more than willing to help with initial travel meetings and the whole process leading up to departure. She has led very successful international travel tours and would like as many students as possible to be given this opportunity to travel internationally. NPR is inviting students to create a 3-12 minute podcast for grades 5-12. This would be a great opportunity to advocate learning another language! Accepting submissions through March 31, 2019.
