EOC AUDIT 2017 & VITA 2016 data review

On April 25, 2017, WorkLife underwent an audit of our Energy Outreach Colorado grant. The audit consisted of 2 separate sections

fIRST, We looked for completeness of each entry including:

1. Completed EOC application

NAMES ON APPLICATIONS SHOULD MATCH NAME IN E-LOGIC

YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS SECTION BEFORE MARY WILL APPROVE EOC APPLICATIONS

2. Completed release of information (signed by both parties)

MAKE SURE BOTH PARTIES SIGN!!!

3. COPY OF THE BILL

4. pHOTO ID

sECOND, WE LOOKED AT 20 CLIENT FILES FOR ACCURACY...

ofi's

  1. Verification w/LEAP is required and must be verified before EOC applications will be approved/submitted.
  2. Make sure to indicate WHY the client doesn't qualify, why we didn't pay the full amount, etc...
  3. Case notes with EOC data involved are also helpful in telling the story

WORKLIFE IS ON TRACK TO SERVE 131.28 CLIENTS FOR THE 2016-17 EOC YEAR

IN 2016, 103 CLIENTS RECEIVED AN AVERAGE OF $225.73 WORTH OF EOC ASSISTANCE

THAT NUMBER CAN REACH OVER 130 CLIENTS RECEIVING AN AVERAGE OF $300 WORTH EOC ASSISTANCE IN 2017!!!
AND... TAXES

In 2017, Logan filed (or helped Marq fix all the errors...)

225 tax returns!

NOCO TOTAL: 127 RETURNS FILED

EITC TOTAL: $92,760

DENVER TOTAL FILING COSTS SAVED: $35,574
NOCO TOTAL FILING COSTS SAVED: $46,101

TOTAL FILING COSTS SAVED: $81,675

DENVER TOTAL TAX REFUNDS RECEIVED: $140,971
NOCO TOTAL TAX REFUNDS RECEIVED: $140,971

FEDERAL AND STATE TAX REFUNDS: $284,031
