Genova 2016 Interactions in the Mediterranean: Exchange, Conflict and Cooperation
What is EYP?
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a unique educational programme which brings together young people from all over Europe to discuss current topics in a parliamentary setting. As a network of independent associations, EYP is present in 40 European countries and organises almost 600 events every year, involving close to 35.000 participants.
A series of group exercises aimed at helping the participants define their own rules and working procedures, adapted to their personalities and guided by volunteers with years of experience. During this first day, the participants will learn to overcome prejudice in an atmosphere of constructive discussions, constant feedback and mutual help, strengthening both their spirit and ability to work as a team.
Over the following two days, each of the recently formed Committees will face the challenge of writing a Motion for a Resolution on one of the various topics of debate. Departing from the knowledge gathered during the long period of preparation before the event, the students will work to find solutions that are both adequate and innovative. This work will then be compiled into a Motion for a Resolution to be shared with all the participants.
The final day of the Forum will bring together all the participants at a plenary session where each Motion for a Resolution will be presented, debated and voted. The adopted Resolutions will be compiled and distributed to all relevant civil society actors, as well as regional, national and international policymakers.
