Ward Green Primary October V1 2020 Newsletter

Thank you for wearing masks when coming to school - this will hopefully help stop the spread of Corona virus in our area. Our Year 5 bubble has been in isolation for the last 2 weeks for the second time since the full opening of school in September. They have been great at attending the hourly live teaching sessions throughout their isolation. This has given us a great start to develop our approach to remote learning should the Government decide on a full lockdown at anytime in the future. We are looking forward to seeing our year 5 pupils back at school on Monday 19th October - we have missed you!

Due to the restrictions we are unable to have our usual halloween disco. We will be having a dress up day on Friday 23rd October where children can come in their halloween outfits if they wish. We will have lots of fun with this being the last day before half term.

There is no official guidance as yet to the possibility of children taking part in trick or treat activities - the advice is to limit the number of strangers that your children come into contact with. One suggestion for an alternative is to put a pumpkin in the window so that children can complete a pumpkin trail around Ward Green.

Inset Day

Monday 2nd November.

Apologies for the mistake in the previous email. Monday 2nd November is an inset day, children should return to school on Tuesday 3rd November.

All staff will be renewing their first aid at work qualification during this day.

Hello Yellow

We had lots of Yellow around school on Friday to raise awareness for mental health.

Forest Schools

Year 1

Our year 1 pupils were excited to receive their cereal on Friday after being the most impressive class in school all week!

EYFS - early essence

FS1 and FS2 are sending home a 'how to guide' for parents/carers to see online learning journeys through seesaw. They will be able to see examples of their child's work along with teacher assements and comments.

Parents Evening

Parents evening will take place on Wednesday 21st October. We have decided with the current situation we will be holding telephone conversations. Parents will still be required to book an appointment through the arbor app, this is now available to do so.
