RMC vs Western Saturday - 2018/10/27

Kingston, ON - RMC (0-1) hosted the Western Mustangs (1-0) in the first game of the year, but fell 3-0 to the visitors.

1st Set

Western came out strong in the first set of the season, topping RMC 25-12 to take a 1-0 lead. The Mustangs rode the impressive play of Kelsey Veltman, who finished the day with 15 kills on 25 total attacks.

2nd Set

RMC showed more resilience in the second set, but Western won 25-19 in their most efficient set of the match.

Former libero Maiyah Russell showed well in her first outing at setter with 21 assists for RMC in the match.

3rd Set

The Paladins continued to improve throughout the match, with bright spots including Kara Stephan's 10 kills and 11 digs, as well as Lauryne Mvuezolo's 13 digs and nine kills.

Western was able to close out the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.

RMC returns to action at the KMCSC on Sunday at 1:00 PM vs Windsor (0-1).
