Milestone in the journey of one of Tayside’s oldest car dealerships.

Grassicks Garage today (30/03/2017) celebrated its 95th birthday and over the years, the business has seen many changes, but one fundamental part has stayed the same.

Established in 1922 by Alfred Grassick, the garage has stayed in the family ever since, passing to Alfred’s son Donald in 1956, then to Donald’s wife Mary in 1971, before it was taken over by the third generation of Grassick, Donald and Mary’s son Colin, in 1995.

But it’s not just generations of the Grassick family who have stayed with the business. Customers buy multiple cars from the garage, as do their children and grandchildren. And one member of staff has clocked up over 50 years with the business!

Over the past 10 decades, Grassicks has sold Peugeot, Ferrari and Rolls Royce vehicles – even once selling Rolls Royce to football legend George Best – before moving their focus to BMW in 1971 (making it the longest-established BMW showroom in Tayside) and MINI in 2001.

At the centre of the Grassicks’ business ethos is, and has always been, that customer care is paramount. This is why our customers have given it the highest rating – 20 stars – for both sales and service, which they have held for large periods of the past three years.

We are currently the only garage to hold a 20-star rating in Scotland, making us top of the table for customer satisfaction.
