The location and outfits
I believe that you should look at your engagement photos and the images should encompass everything you are as a couple. I create sessions with my clients that tell their story. The location could be on a rooftop downtown or in the Ozark Mountains. This is why for a small additional fee I offer travel sessions. A lot of my clients take vacations together or go on adventures. Their Facebook and Instagram feeds are littered with images of them exploring together. I've had requests to travel to waterfalls a few hours away or to mountains on the other side of the state. I say- let's do it! Have some fun while capturing your save the date cards! Know you'll have photos where everyone will look at them and say- oh my goodness, that is so them!
Regarding what you wear, I always say to wear what you feel comfortable in. As we customize your session- including the location, time of day, and small details, I'll provide you with tips and advice on how to dress for your shoot. I have many clients text me photos of different outfits and ask advice. I also charge a small fee and can style you based on personality and what you like. And, of course, you can always bring a few different outfits for the shoot.
As I mentioned above all of my wedding packages come with an engagement session. If you want to just have me do your engagement photos I charge $450 for the session. That includes two hours of time, 3 outfit changes, and 15-20 digital photos from your session with printing rights.
Your Bridal Session
The only package that comes with a complimentary bridal session is my Deluxe package. My clients have the option to add on a bridal session for $250 and will receive 15-20 beautifully edited digital images. Bridals are such an important stop on the journey to getting married. Too often brides don’t think that they need a session only devoted to them getting their pictures taken in their dress. What they don’t realize is how much more it is than just that.
A bridal session is a test run for your big day. It’s the one chance that you have to get your hair and your makeup done, put on your dress with your shoes, see how comfortable you’ll be for the wedding, and how everything will photograph. It’ll give you a chance to change anything that you don’t like instead of waiting until your wedding day.
It’s also important because on your wedding day you will be rushed. Too many times my clients want to rush through formal photos because guests get antsy and start to leave the reception early, or don’t want to stay. So their time is cut short for formals and almost no bridals are taken that day. It’s sad because brides have no pictures of themselves alone and in their wedding dress. There’s none to show their kids, none to hang on the wall, or give a copy to their husband so that he can keep it on his desk at work.
Bridals sessions are usually done around 6 weeks prior to the wedding and take 2 weeks to edit and deliver to the client. Travel is also something that is offered for a small add on fee. This process is something that is so special. I always tell clients to get the bridal! Indulge! You won’t regret it, I promise!
Wedding Day Coverage
The coverage you get from Andrea King Photography on your wedding day depends on the package you choose. Every package, though, includes coverage of your actual wedding day (ceremony and reception) with me, Andrea, as your photographer. The packages are for consecutive coverage and cannot be split into sections for different parts of your day.
For my larger packages I offer a second shooter option to help me capture more of the details of you big day. More shooters means more images, so that's always good. I offer specialty add-ons such as rehearsal dinner coverage, day after formal photos, trash the dress, and bridal boudoir.
No matter what package or add-ons you select, the photos from your wedding day will be beautiful. I take both journalistic/lifestyle and candid images and also posed shots. From the moment you secure your date with me, we'll work together to make sure every single image you want is captured on your big day.
I create a timeline for the day and send it to my couple two weeks prior to your big day. I have found that this helps with the general flow of the day as well as making it easier so that family members and wedding party members know where they need to be. It is also a big comfort to my clients to see their big day laid out in front of them and know that their wedding day will be as smooth and efficient as possible.
