It's such a little thing, making bonnets. A quater yard of fabric and the prettiest lace I can find. In about an hour, it's completed. Frequently I'm asked, "who are you making that for"? I answer, " I don't have a name or the sex of the baby". What I do know, is that a little bundle that is very sick will fill this little bonnet for a short increment of time. Their sweet little head will peek out of a blanket with one of my bonnets on and from a distance she will be the most beautiful baby in the world. The closer you become, (if you're willing to invest your heart), the more you understand he's here only just awhile. Long enough for you to feel joy, pain, loss and even gratitude.
