Janell Connolly lives and works in The Slate Belt, a rural region of Pennsylvania rich with history, craftspeople, artists, and beautiful natural assets. A life-long artist and former early childhood educator, Janell is an active entrepreneur, community leader, and business development specialist.

Janell speaks regularly to a wide audience on subjects like mindset, marketing, small government and non-profit efficiency, and business development. Working with leaders in her field, Janell readily collaborates to solve problems big and small for all types of entities.

Projects

Novel Ensemble is a Main Street inspired eCommerce experience. Privately sourced and carefully curated, this project has been a labor of love. Janell believes that creative solutions to marketing and logistics can play an integral role in saving the American Downtown experience. Novel Ensemble is the product of that work.

Generation Yoga

Generation Yoga was founded in 2007 as a way to bring a more accessible yoga to people in small or underserved communities. Utilizing shared and community spaces, Janell’s model for a transient studio has been shared with yoga teachers all over and is being implemented around the country. Janell continues to share yoga with students and help studio owners develop and maintain sustainable, ethical business models.

Initially founded by Janell in 2005, Elevations is constantly evolving to meet new market trends and is dedicated to the science of commerce. The portfolio includes comprehensive solutions to planning, execution, risk assesment and recovery, marketing, and development for entrepreneurs as well as on site corporate team training. They help people realize their dream or rescue their legacy business.

Blogging and Social Marketing are a key component to being relevant and providing brand recognition. Janell’s signature page is a jumping off point for most of her endeavors. Want to connect on a human level, this is where you’ll find her.

Janell runs several virtual communities with a combined membership of nearly 10,000 people with a total of almost 200,000 interactions a month. Most recently, the creation of The Owner’s Manual, a parenting Education group created in partnership with Facebook, as a beta test product. This group works with experts and peer mentors in the community, providing a quality atmosphere.

Pen Argyl Borough Council

Janell is a Councilwoman in Pen Argyl Borough, representing 2nd ward since spring 2017. Janell chairs the zoning committee, and sits on the Tax, finance and personnel committee, and the park board.

Janell has served as co-chair of Slate Belt Rising, a Neighborhood Partnership Program serving her home region since 2014. It is Janell’s core belief that a community cannot grow until it creates a model to address poverty and it’s generational effects.

Slate Belt Rising creates opportunity for youth engagement, addresses neighborhood and housing issues, and works intra-borough to develop working relationships across the region to address sustainability of programming and vibrant, thriving economic atmospheres.

Lehigh Valley Planning Commission

In addition to municipal government, Janell sits as a Commissioner on the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission representing Northampton County.
